Refund Policy

1. Scope

This Refund Policy applies to paid subscriptions to the Mapwright managed cloud purchased through our reseller and merchant of record, Paddle. It forms part of, and should be read with, our Terms of Service. The self-hosted Mapwright software is open-source and free — there is nothing to refund — so this policy concerns the managed-cloud plans only.

2. Free tier

The Free tier is exactly that: free, with no card required and nothing to refund. You can use it for as long as you like within its monthly limits.

3. 14-day money-back guarantee

If you are not satisfied with a paid plan, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your first paid purchase — no questions asked. This applies to the initial purchase of a paid plan (your first upgrade from Free, or your first paid subscription). Once refunded, the paid plan ends and your account returns to the Free tier.

4. Cancellation & renewals

Paid plans are billed in advance for each billing period and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account or by contacting us; cancellation stops future renewals and you keep access through the end of the period you have already paid for.

Outside the 14-day window described above, payments for a billing period that has already started are non-refundable, and we do not prorate refunds for unused time in the current period. We may still issue a refund at our discretion — for example, for a confirmed billing error or a material service failure on our side.

5. Usage-based charges

Any usage- or overage-based charges reflect requests that have already been served and are non-refundable once incurred. Per-key usage is visible in the console so you can monitor it against your plan.

6. Enterprise

Enterprise and custom agreements are governed by the refund and termination terms of the signed order or contract, which take precedence over this policy.

7. How payments are processed

Payments and refunds for the managed cloud are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Paddle and may take a few business days to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer. Receipts and invoices are issued by Paddle.

8. Statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable refund or cancellation rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law (for example, statutory cooling-off rights in the EU/UK). Where such rights apply, they are honored in addition to the guarantee above.

9. How to request a refund

Email billing@mapwright.io from the address on your account, with your account details and the reason for the request. We aim to respond within a few business days. Please contact us before initiating a chargeback — we can almost always resolve refund requests directly and faster.

10. Changes

We may update this Refund Policy; we will post the new effective date here. Changes apply to purchases made after they take effect.
